Representative Mannis Shares His Thoughts on Special Session

On August 11, 2021, Speaker Sexton sent a letter to the Governor asking him to consider calling a special session to “address misdirected and mandated responses to COVID-19". All 73 Republican House members signed onto this letter.

Immediately after the letter was released, I posted my explanation as to why I signed onto the letter and what I hoped the results of the special called session would be. Since then, the Governor has stated he sees no need for a special session.

As I’ve stated below, and many times before, I truly understand the deeper truth of public life and I strive every day to do the right thing for the most people.  I will continue to use a common sense, compassionate approach as we continue to navigate more tough times ahead for our State, Knox County and District18.

Please let me know if there’s any way I can be of service to you.
